![]() Rowena Doble @ the new devon clinic
Rowena is a dedicated Homeopath who has many years experience of patient-centred care in the UK, Nepal, Greece and Canada.
Over the last 12 yrs, she is one of only a few UK homeopaths to have studied extensively with Prof. G. Vithoulkas at the International Academy of Classical Homoeopathy, Alonissos, Greece.
Recently returned to the UK after living and studying in Greece and Canada, Rowena practices classical homeopathy, and now runs a busy family practice in Devon. Having grown three children up ‘homeopathically’, she is very keen to promote a family orientated, holistic approach to health, and has gained considerable experience in the treatment of pregnancy, childbirth and children’s health. Other specialist areas include fertility, women’s health and menopausal issues. HOMEOPATHIC COURSES AND WORKSHOPS Rowena has always been very keen to promote an holistic approach to health, and now designs and runs evening classes , first aid courses and travel advice clinics. These include courses on how to use homeopathy in the home, from first aid situations to emergencies, or just common childhood ailments to specialized sports injuries etc. More in depth workshops explore topics such as wellbeing and health, pregnancy and childbirth, and menopausal issues, and are usually 1 or 2 day workshops. THE HOMEOPATHIC CONSULTATION Rowena has a very holistic approach to health, and during the confidential consultation, she will need to find out not only very precise details of your current illness, but also will take into account many other aspects of your health. These include your past medical history, diet, lifestyle and personality. By understanding all these factors and seeing the interactions that are important, then a thorough understanding can lead to finding a homeopathic remedy which matches you and your symptoms., Follow – ups The first follow up consultation will usually be around four weeks after the first prescription, although in some cases it may be sooner. This session will normally be shorter, and Rowena will ask about whatever changes have occurred. These will be noted and referred back to the detailed notes of the prescription, before deciding on the next course of treatment. Homeopathic treatment It is recommended that you maintain your relationship with your GP or specialist. When necessary homeopathic and conventional approaches can be used alongside one another to give the most effective and appropriate medical care. Your local NHS services will also be able to arrange any diagnostic procedures you may need and provide emergency cover. Some people choose homeopathy because they are unhappy with side effects from their current conventional medication, and in many cases homeopathic treatment can gradually reduce or remove the need for conventional drugs. However you should continue with any conventional medical treatment that may have already been prescribed as it may be dangerous to stop this suddenly. Any change in use of conventional medication should be discussed with both the prescribing doctor and your homeopath as treatment progresses. If at any stage of your treatment you are concerned about changes in your symptoms, you should contact your homeopath and/or medical practitioner immediately. Homeopathic prescription Rowena will prescribe your remedy following the consultation. It will be given in tablet, pilule, liquid or occasionally powdered form. Homeopathic remedies are taken differently from conventional medicines, and as a new patient you will be given a leaflet containing useful information which includes how and when to take your remedy. Homeopathy can be safely used alongside conventional drugs and will not interfere with the action of any medicines prescribed by a doctor. Homeopathic treatment has an excellent safety record and because homeopathic medicines are non-toxic, they can be used by babies, children and during pregnancy. Homeopathic medicines (which homeopaths call remedies) are prepared by specialist homeopathic pharmacies using a careful process of dilution and succussion (a specific form of vigorous shaking). Code of Ethics and Practice The designation RSHom, is widely recognised as being associated with the highest academic standards in Homoeopathy, and is issued by The Society of Homoeopaths. It is accepted by the HSA and many other Medical insurance Schemes. The Society of Homeopaths is the largest body of professional homeopaths in Europe. Registered members of The Society of Homeopaths are fully insured and have agreed to practise and abide by a strict Code of Ethics & Practice. You may read a copy of the Society’s Code of Ethics & Practice plus the register in the clinic, or it is also available on www.homeopathy-soh.org.

I highly recommend Chris Fleet, the Hypnotherapist at The Devon Clinic, I went to see him to help me lose weight and I have lost 2 stone (this has now gone to 3 stone since this testimonial was received) without going to the gym because Chris retrained my way of thinking about food. I felt comfortable with him and can't wait to see him again for help with other things. - Satisfied Client
